My university life.... 1

Fear gripped me as I step my feet out of the cab into the university premises, I felt like a fish shoved out of the water and laid on the shore to die.
This feeling suck, dad settled the driver and joined me while we made our way to the administration block. My heart
throbbed heavily, my headache and hurts. The massive school buildings were breathtaking from the peak to the depth. Most building had people's name probably their sponsor or alumni.
We were offered a seat by the receptionist, her personality was charming and charismatic. Her red knee length dress captured her body, giving way for her curves, figures and healthy legs fixed to her heels.
Dad took my hand into his,
"My biggest aim in life is to see my children succeed and progress in life, don't swerve from your studies and promise to be good" he advised
"I promise"
A lady in a black suit, ushered us into her office, while dad made the required payment, I was taken away by the receptionist, I waved  him bye.
I was directed to my dorm, the room was spacious enough for three set of dorm beds. Two seems occupied already, I took the last one next to the window at the corner.  From my room window, I watched my dad leaving in the cab, leaving me behind in my new world. I grabbed my bag and scrambled through for my phone, I need it now than ever, I wasn't ready to unpack my suit case. All I need was someone by my side. Going through my notification, I saw Beatrice's message on Facebook. I quickly scanned through to view it.
"Hi! Mboutidem, I hope you are okay with changes around you, don't grumble, be calm and be yourself and everything will go well".
That's my saviour right now, " thank you Bff" I replied to her message
We've been best friends since childhood, living in the same neighborhood and worshiping together.
My dad's idea of attending university in another country, far from home, wasnt the best news of the year for her. "Though we might be far from each other, we are engrossed in heart" Beatrice once encouraged me. No one can fit into my friend's place in my life, because she is the best. Her authentic smiles and great sense of humour.
The door bashed open, two girls of about sixteen or seventeen rushed in, one had a light skin like the models in cream and TV commercials. Her perfect hair rolled down to her side, the other had a dark skin with dashing eyes. Talking to each other, they didn't notice the had company, their voice sounded like chanting birds.
"Hi" I greeted
"Hello" they answered unison, their expression quoted their thoughts "are you in the right room?"
"I just arrived a few minutes ago, I was shown to this room, so don't bother asking" I said.
"Oh! That's right, Mr. Yaw told us about you this morning, am Nana Efi And this is" she said pausing for the fair girl to continue.
"I won't bother telling" she said in  hubris manner she just originated a nickname for herself.
"Nice names, but am curious about yours" I said pointing at my drama princess,
"Don't mind Priscilla, she is fond of that," Nana said placing her hand on my shoulder.
"You better save your energy and have some rest, Mr Anchor's lectures is by 6:00am, you don't want to miss that" Priscilla said.
"Of course, but that's not someone's name right?, Mr Anchor" I whispered to myself.
"You need the experience tomorrow miss, stop asking question, am sleeping so don't disturb" she said and laid down quietly on her bed, Nana quickly join her. I drew the window blinds open, it was already sunset, time made a fast wave today, I drew up my sleeves and checked my wrist wrapped around my leather wristwatch my dad bought for me on my sixteen birthday a month ago. The time was striking 7:00pm, "who sleeps so early" I thought to myself, I laid my bedsheet and fell on the soft six spring bed. I couldn't put myself to sleep, I miss home, I miss prince and promise, the thoughts of what I would probably be doing at home strucked me, playing cards games or ludo and Promise loud yells whenever she loses to us. I finally forced myself to sleep.
