"hey! What are you doing?" I snapped at Johanna, who was busy taking snapshot of my graduation gown." your dress is gorgeous, am sure you will look amazing in this dress" she said
plastering a fake smile on her face. Putting up with Johanna for four years isn't an easy task, she is fond of this attitude since i became her roommate in my second year at college.
"Why are you dressed in my graduation gown and taking snapshots of it, please don't post it"
Oh! Its online already and I just had thirty likes" she grinned and pulled off the dress. My phone buzzed on, it was Johanna's post notification. I grabbed my phone and viewed the post, her caption was "best birthday gift from dad" lovely dress.
A lot of people are obsessed just like Johanna when it comes to social media they change their attitude, opinions and feelings even their lifestyle to impress people. A chameleon is a reptile that's changes its color to fit into environment, its called a camouflage.
Like this reptile, some people hide behind fake camouflage to impress fans and followers, putting forward the best to attract and fit in.
This camouflage wasn't to attract, it was to protect, the reptile use this to protect them from predators. Don't be fooled, people aren't who they post to be, a lot of people display their daily life on social media, that's pretty emotional, when your feelings are exposed, not every fan or followers are friends, sometimes the are waiting to see your down fall and when your feelings expose your problem, the grab the chance and thats an example of a predator and a chameleon who didn't use their camouflage effectively.
We can impress our friends by showing who we really are, have stories to tell, not stuff to show. The beauty is within, show that to the world and be an inspiration for others.
